Installation

Most of our acoustic enclosures are completed at our factory and are ready to go directly into service. For example so-called ‘drop over’ type units may only need to be lowered over the machine. On the other hand, site work may be necessary when the enclosure is large and cannot be transported in one piece or when it needs to be mounted in restricted spaces. Then we supply the enclosure in panel form with over-centre catches and assemble it on site.

Service

We take pride in our skill and experience. To ensure your requirements for design and quality construction are achieved, we keep you informed at all stages of manufacture.

Most of our acoustic enclosures are completed at our factory and are ready to go directly into service.

Most of our acoustic enclosures are completed at our factory and are ready to go directly into service. Installation is simple and can be done by the customer. For example so-called ‘drop over’ type units may only need to be lowered over the machine. Drop over enclosures can be used when it is necessary to suppress noise pollution from machinery either fixed or mobile. Legally employers must protect their employees from continuous high noise levels above 85dB(A).

On the other hand, site work may be necessary when the enclosure is large and cannot be transported in one piece or when it needs to be mounted in restricted spaces. Then we supply the enclosure in panel form with quick-acting catches and assemble it on site. The enclosures can be constructed from any outer materials for a finish to your requirements and also all weather conditions. Each acoustic enclosure installation is treated individually. Site evaluations are carried out to determine the type of enclosure required.

Equipment such as presses, foundry shake-out machines, nail making machines, and granulators require an inlet and outlet for entry and exit of the product. These openings need attenuation to minimise noise emission. Fans emitting considerable noise through the casing will also need to be enclosed and therefore penetrations will need to be provided for the air inlet and outlet. A small ventilation fan may be needed to remove the electric motor heat.

Applications

Compressors

Saw booths

Pumps

Granulators

Generators

Gear boxes

Punches

Grinders

And many more…

Acoustic Louvres are used when a machine moving large volumes of air in or out of a building or large plant room creates noise and the space is restricted. An acoustic louvre will assist with ventilation and noise control. An Acoustic Louvre can be an unobtrusive weatherproof barrier and form part of the architectural feature of a building. We can design acoustic louvres to suit your machinery and provide on site measurement and fitting to solve most industrial noise problems.

Applications

Cooling towers

Processing plants

Plant rooms

Refrigeration machinery

Large machinery enclosures

Underground or enclosed car parks

Construction

Mainly manufactured from galvanised mild steel sheeting and fitted with mild steel angle flanges. The units can also be made from other metals such as stainless steel and aluminium. The louvre blades are provided with an infill of acoustic fibreglass covered with galvanised mild steel perforated sheet.

The louvres consist of a series of modules from standard depth of 300mm or 600mm width and height to suit your needs. Finish can be unpainted, galvanised or finished to your own colour requirements.
Optional features include bird screens.

Barriers are suitable for areas where it is necessary to protect workers from a nearby noise source or to protect nearby residents. Barriers provide a cheaper option to fully enclosing machinery and also greatly reduce ventilation and maintenance problems. Sound absorption is provided in areas where reflected sound is a problem in existing or new buildings, outside or inside. We provide on site measurement and installation to your specifications.

Applications

Hospitals

Factories

Chiller sets

Tumblers

Roof ventilation units

Rotating drums

Engine test rooms

And many more…

Construction

Barriers are generally manufactured from galvanised mild steel sheeting, adequately stiffened, and if necessary fitted with a sound absorbing material on the side facing the noise source. Structural design computations can be provided to ensure high wind loads are not a problem.

Our high sound resisting doors can be used when there is a need for quiet areas to escape from noisy machines. Noise Control Engineering can install a door in an existing building or supply the door and frame in kit form. Special locking and opening devices are available to provide airtight seals and maximum sound resistance.

The doors may be single or double type, constructed with steel sheeting on each side, and internally fitted with an acoustic sound absorbing material. The doors would be provided with seals, doorframes and the necessary hardware.

Baffles provide sound absorption inside buildings, existing or new. Ceilings are treated to help control reverberated noise. Acoustic Baffles are simple and efficient to install and may be suspended from your ceiling in any desired pattern. A regular pattern is the easiest installation using a suspended ceiling grid, or can be suspended using galvanised wire. Ceilings can be installed at any height and do not need to be all in the same plane.

Applications:

Factories

Plant rooms

Public halls

Acoustic enclosures

School buildings

Construction

Baffles consist of rockwool formed as a rigid batt, enclosed in a plastic film and are suspended from the ceiling.
