Attenuators

Attenuators are needed when it is necessary to control noise and still provide the required airflow to your application. Noise Control Engineering computer select, design and manufacture acoustic attenuators to suit your individual situation. We can provide on site measurement and fitting when required.

Applications

* Industrial centrifugal and axial fans
* Plant room air inlet and outlets
* Dust extraction systems
* Air compressors
* Exhaust plenum chambers
* Air conditioning plant rooms
* Cooling towers
* Positive displacement blowers
* Diesel engine driven generators and other machinery
* Frequently used in conjunction with Acoustic Enclosures
* And many more…

CIRCULAR ATTENUATORS

Circular attenuators are generally required where a gas or air flows through circular pipes. A basic circular attenuator will allow the gas to flow straight through which results in an average noise reduction and very low pressure drop. The addition of a pod into the attenuator provides a greater noise reduction, but may also increase the pressure drop. Matching flanges are provided to allow fitting to existing pipe work.

Applications

* Industrial centrifugal and axial fans
* Boiler flues
* Dust extraction systems
* Screw axial and reciprocating air compressors
* Vacuum pumps
* Positive displacement blowers

Construction

Our attenuators are generally manufactured from galvanised mild steel sheeting and fitted with mild steel flanges, but we can also manufacture units from stainless steel and aluminium if conditions require. The internal parts of the attenuators consist of sideliners and splitters manufactured from acoustic fibreglass enclosed in perforated sheeting. Splitters are specially shaped to minimise the air pressure drop.
